Meet Zoe!

Hi everyone!

My name is Zoe Wang, and I’m a senior at McMurtry majoring in Bioscience with minors in Global Health Technologies and Medical Humanities. On campus, I’m very involved with Camp Kesem Rice (s/o Make the Magic Committee!) and the Global Health Club. Otherwise, you’ll likely see me working…yapping in Sammy’s, convincing my friends to play pickleball, or enjoying a good board game.

One of my favorite memories at Rice was with my senior design team, where we designed a low cost automated scar massaging device for pediatric burn patients in Costa Rica. It was incredibly rewarding to work alongside our physicians sponsors—incorporating their insights—and to even bring it to the Dominican Republic this past summer for feedback from pediatric surgeons.

In the future, I hope to apply the woodworking skills I gain in ENGI 210 to create planter stands for a mini indoor garden. I’m also excited to learn how to use the laser cutter and start incorporating it into my projects!
