Hello everyone! My name is Alexis Romano, a senior MSNE student hoping to have some fun from this course. I’m originally from Chicago, so I love the Chicago Bears and a good Chicago-style dog. At Rice, I am part of a few different activities, the main ones being research in the N^3 lab, and I am in a leadership position for the MSNE undergraduate society(nerdy, ik). I am also a SHPE socials coordinator, so if you see any SHPE events this year or last year, I most likely had my mitts on planning it!
As for the topic of this class, I am excited to make things and have already made some things. My proudest one so far is my hobby desk!!! It took a long while to try and get the edges all perfect and squared, but it eventually came out well and good enough for my purposes. As for what I hope to make, I plan on making some sort of carrying case/display case for the fellas on the desk, as I need to organize my room better… Hopefully, ENGI 210 will help me be able to design this and be able to choose materials for the job, and also make it look good while being functional. I look forward to working with you all!
