Hi everyone! My name is Chloe Hsieh and I’m so excited to be embarking on this journey with you all ^w^

I’m currently a sophomore at Sid Rich studying Cognitive Science and Engineering Design. I love how interdisciplinary my major is and how I get to learn a little bit about everything. In this class, I’m looking forward to bringing a different perspective to the world of engineering.

As a little kid, I often had a lot of fun making paper clothing for my stuffed toys. I’m proud of these moments because this is something that has sparked my love for creativity and design. I can’t wait to learn how to sew in this class because I have a penchant for fashion and I would be unstoppable with the knowledge of how to create my own clothing.

Another fun fact about me is that I love learning about different languages and cultures. Growing up in Taiwan and the U.S., I speak a mix of English, Mandarin, and Hokkien at home. I’ve also studied Russian in Narva, Estonia, and I was so lucky to be able to spend 3 months in France this summer as part of Rice in France and Rice Global Paris. Next summer, I’m hoping to broaden my experiences in engineering design by applying to iSEED (fingers crossed!)
