CNC – paws

This assignment aims to cut a pattern with CNC machine. I downloaded SVG file from the noun project and imported it into Carbide create software to modify the cutting area.  I added a circle (1.5in radius) around the paw for contour cut. The pocket cut area is selected at regions of paws and make them cut at slightly different depth.

And we calibration the position of wood piece and did probing. They worked perfectly, but the cutting area is not very smooth as laser cutting. I tried to polish with 400 sand paper.

As I wanted to cut one more different paw pattern, the wood was not stick to the plate very well. When it started to cut contour, the wood easily moves and I had to interrupt the cutting. This is the one I failed below due to wood movement.

After polishing my two successful pieces, I spray painted them with blue and yellow primer+paint to make them look better.
