Jerry’s Reasons for Taking ENGI 210

My name is Jerry and I’m a sophomore studying Electrical Engineering. I am part of Rice Robotics club designing and building robots for combat robotics competitions. I’m also part of Rice Eclipse’s avionics division making live data transmission devices. One thing I am proud of is a high voltage power supply I made from parts of an old TV. It’s about the size of a water bottle and makes a loud sounding arc when activated.

If possible, I would like to make Lichtenberg figures on wood. I could use the available machines to imitate the design if  high voltage electricity is not available. Overall, I hope to learn to use a variety of prototyping tools in order to make designs of my choice. Specifically, the CNC router is one machine that I am especially looking forward to using.
