Apron with Annanya

Heyy!! So, let’s take you on my first ever journey of stitching an apron. While selecting the cloth required, I picked up a pretty red polka dot pattern cloth. Later, coming to the stitching part I cut the cloth according to my size measurements. Here, I used rough paper and cut it according to the measure. Later on, I placed the paper on the cloth which I folded to get two sides.

After that I started sewing the edges in a neat and precise way. Then I measure the strips required for the back and the neck and sew it on while doing the edges. Finally came the pocket, here I used the cloth which was left to make the pocket. After that I sewed it on and got done with my apron.

Overall, it was a fun journey and because I did stitching for the very first time in my life I am happy with my work.

The estimated cost of the apron:

  • 1 yard of polka dot cloth: $12.99
  • White thread: $0.001/yd x 20 yard approximately =  $0.02
  • Cotton strapping: $2/yd x 3 yard approximately = $6
  • Labor: $15/hr x 8 hours = $120
