My name is Juan Aizprua and I am a freshman Mechanical Engineering major from Brown College. I’m orignally from North Carolina but have been absolutely enjoying my time here at Rice in Houston. I’ve loved the engineering related classes I have taken so far here at Rice, including Engi 120 where I enjoyed working to produce a device to help reduce back strain for Chinampa workers in Mexico (Seen below).

One thing I want to make this semester is a fake perpetual motion machine, that look like they move indepently forever by are actually powered by a battery something of that sort. I’ve seen many cool designs before and I want to make my own. One thing I hope to learn this semester is the ability to many cool unique things using techniques like laser cutting.
