I started this project taking measurements of my own body to determine dimensions, then drew and cut out a half pattern, dividing the apron down the vertical center line. I then removed one corner of this pattern to allow for free shoulder movement. I used binder clips to secure this pattern to a folded over piece of vinyl fabric, then marked the outline with an extra half inch in every direction to allow room to fold and sew the edge. I cut out the outline, leaving a rough outline of the apron, checked for proper sizing, then folded over the bottom edge, secured it with binder clips, and pressed the fold with a pair of scissors before sewing a line along the folded section to secure the edge. I found that the normal sewing machines had trouble automatically advancing the fabric, though helping to push the vinyl forwards fixed this issue. I repeated this with all other edges, checked the size again, then noticed that the stitches started out fine but decreased in quality over as more sewing was done. I recommend checking that the tension is still at the proper point between sewing each edge. Moving on to the straps, I connected three pieces of fabric at 4 points on the apron, with one to hang from my neck while the other two tie around my waist. I made the connections by sewing crossed boxes between the apron and a folded over section of strap. I then finished the apron by folding and sewing the ends of the waist straps.
