Josh’s Top 9 Reasons for taking ENGI 210

My name is Josh Stelling, and I am a freshman at Baker College. I am mostly involved in Rice ECLIPSE, the rocket club, here at Rice. I like rockets.

I made a rocket for my ENGI 120 project last semester, which I was really proud of. Additionally, I was on a robotics team in high school, and I did a significant amount of work making robots with the team, which I am very proud of. (Pictured below)

Bad photo, but you get the idea

I am really looking forward to making the chess piece at the end of the semester, because I am fascinated by the manufacturing processes that involve molds/casting. Additionally, I look forward to making 3D printed objects, because the process is so unique and innovative.

Like with what I look forward to making, I am looking forward to learning how to operate 3D printers well to produce the best possible products. Additionally, I look forward to learning about the various different materials available for all types of manufacturing (metals, plastics, wood, composites, etc.).
